At MetLife Foundation, we are committed to driving inclusive economic mobility. We collaborate with nonprofit organizations and provide grants aligned to three strategic focus areas – Economic Inclusion, Financial Health and Resilient Communities – while engaging MetLife employee volunteers to help drive impact. MetLife Foundation was established in 1976 to continue MetLife’s long tradition of corporate contributions and community involvement. Why does MetLife Foundation support Workforce Matters?
MetLife Foundation joined Workforce Matters as a supporting partner last year. We value Workforce Matter’s network of engaged and committed grantmakers that openly share promising best practices for supporting nonprofit leaders driving education and training innovations across the country. This collaborative approach to knowledge and information is valuable as we work towards creating meaningful employment opportunities for talent around the world.
What is something MetLife Foundation is excited about in 2025-2026?
This year, MetLife Foundation launched MetLife Skills for Impact, a skills-based volunteering initiative created to support the communities where MetLife employees live and work. This is a pro-bono consulting program that empowers MetLife employees to help local nonprofit organizations with their most pressing challenges by leveraging the skillsets they use every day. In addition to investing directly into education and career development programs led by our nonprofit partners, we are directly leveraging the talent at MetLife to increase our impact in communities.
What’s something in MetLife Foundation's workforce grantmaking you’d like others to know about?
Our Economic Empowerment partnerships focus on empowering young people and adults to be competitive in the 21st century workforce. From 2022-2024, our Economic Empowerment partnerships directly supported 3.5 million people in their education and career journeys.
