To meet the needs of our varied, national network, we will plan a combination of in-person networking and strategy sessions; topical webinars; workforce policy briefings; affinity groups featuring virtual funder-to-funder conversations; regional connection opportunities; and site visits, all designed to facilitate learning, networking, and collaboration.

Provide and facilitate access to learning opportunities:

  • Develop in-person and virtual learning opportunities that highlight new workforce research, practice, and policy developments to inform workforce grantmaking, with a priority on those that reduce disparities in labor market outcomes and advance equity.
  • Develop and share timely and relevant resources and publications in order to deepen understanding of topics of interest.

Support peer networking and sharing:

  • Build and strengthen connections between funders around shared areas of interest.
  • Include national, regional and community funders representing a diverse array of grantmaking organizations and geographies.
  • Provide leadership and professional development opportunities for a diverse set of current and future leaders in workforce philanthropy.

Build collaboration opportunities and extend the efforts of our members:

  • Foster collaborative approaches to grantmaking, including opportunities to pool or align funding, where these approaches might help advance the field toward more equitable workforce outcomes.
  • Work collaboratively with field partners in a way that honors their expertise and invites them to help shape the work and priorities of the network.
  • Partner with other philanthropy-infrastructure organizations to co-sponsor and amplify aligned learning opportunities.
